In Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, Mindy invites readers on a tour of her life and her unscientific observations on romance, friendship, and Hollywood, with several conveniently placed stopping points for you to run errands and make phone calls. Mindy Kaling really is just a Girl Next Door—not so much literally anywhere in the continental United States, but definitely if you live in India or Sri Lanka.
Debby Karas hosted the group for discussion of the book and reports the following:
There were 6 of us and we laughed and visited. The book discussion was ok. Most agreed it was a bit shallow. The ratings were from 3 to 6, with most in the 4 to 5 range.
The Nov. meeting is at Dena Larson's. She has not set a date yet. Char agreed to host Dec. She will try to book Beth Sundberg to cater the meal. If she is not available, we will potluck the meal. We discussed Sanders, but decided Dec. weather and full schedules would make it difficult. Also, the summer difficulties were discouraging.
The next book is Transatlantic, then Burgess Boys. Geri suggested Out of Water by Wally Lamb, and we agreed.
